Darmasiswa Student Educational Visit: Internationalization and Motivation in Elementary School
The educational visit carried out by Fanaja and Heri, Darmasiswa program students at STMIK IKMI Cirebon, was a real manifestation of efforts to integrate culture within the scope of basic education. This program not only functions as a means of exchanging information between nations, but also as a strategic platform to broaden the thinking horizons of elementary school students through direct interaction with foreign speakers. Through a participatory approach, the presence of international students provides a dynamic and inclusive learning atmosphere in the school environment.
In this session, the two students focused the material on introducing cultural background and the importance of mastering global literacy in the modern era. By using adaptive communication methods, Fanaja and Heri transform complex information into material that is accessible for young children. This step aims to foster students' intellectual curiosity towards the international world, while strengthening their understanding of the diversity of global identities that exist around them.
The presence of Darmasiswa students plays a significant role as a motivational stimulant for students to improve their academic achievements, especially in the fields of language and information technology. By sharing their experiences of cross-country educational trips, Fanaja and Heri provide empirical evidence that dedication to education can open up unlimited opportunities in the future. It is hoped that this inspiring narrative delivered personally can build a lifelong learner mentality in every student from the elementary level.
This activity confirms STMIK IKMI Cirebon's commitment to implementing one of the pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service oriented towards improving the quality of human resources. By facilitating international students to contribute directly to local communities, institutions proactively bridge the global information gap at the grassroots level. It is hoped that this collaboration between universities and basic education institutions can become a precedent for programs to strengthen character and sustainable international insight in the Cirebon region.
